According to several reports in Italy, Gigi Buffon will start against Cagliari on Saturday, making his 652nd appearance in Serie A.
The Juventus goalkeeper made his Serie A debut with Parma 25 years ago and according to La Gazzetta dello Sport and Tuttosport, he could celebrate on Saturday when Cagliari meet the Old Lady at the Allianz Stadium.
Buffon, who remained at the Continassa during the international break, is fit and is expected to start in place of Wojciech Szczęsny who played with Poland during the break.
“When I debuted in Serie A, the world was completely different. Yet, only 25 years have passed. 9132 days. 219,168 hours (and it’s not over yet…),” he wrote on social media yesterday on Thursday.
