Sampdoria midfielder Albin Ekdal could miss the upcoming Serie A clash against Bologna with a muscle injury.
According to Il Secolo XIX, Ekdal didn’t take part to Sampdoria’s training match yesterday due to a muscle strain that could prevent him from playing against Bologna on Sunday.
If Ekdal will be rested, Claudio Ranieri would start Adrien Silva in his place.
The former Leicester midfielder has four appearances in all competition so far this season but only started once in a Coppa Italia game against Salernitana.
The Portuguese has trained at Sampdoria’s training center during the international break and is fit to start.
Striker Manolo Gabbiadini is also set to make return to Sampdoria’s squad after recovering from an injury.
