Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo is building back some of the bridges he burned with Real Madrid, claim reports in Spain, but a return is still unlikely.

According to Marca, the striker had cut off all contact with his former teammates apart from Marcelo when leaving in the summer of 2018.

This has recently changed, with CR7 requesting a ticket to El Clasico against Barcelona in March, as well as other displays of fondness for his old club and teammates.

However, Marca also freely admit this does not suggest a potential return to Real Madrid, even if he does decide to leave Juventus next season.

Italian papers have pointed out in recent weeks that the pandemic has made it increasingly difficult for Juventus to justify the expense of Ronaldo’s €30m per year salary.

The same issue, along with a different taxation regime on higher earners, makes it unlikely Real Madrid could afford his wages either.
