Hellas Verona coach Ivan Juric couldn’t believe his team lost 2-0 to Sassuolo. ‘We steamrollered them in every possible way.’

It’s safe to say luck was not on their side at the Stadio Bentegodi this afternoon, as the hosts hit the frame of the goal four times.

“It was a huge performance, probably our best of the season, as we dominated and allowed Sassuolo very little,” said Juric in his press conference.

It’s safe to say luck was not on their side at the Stadio Bentegodi this afternoon, as the hosts hit the frame of the goal four times.

“It was a huge performance, probably our best of the season, as we dominated and allowed Sassuolo very little,” said Juric in his press conference.

“We steamrollered them in every possible way, but we didn’t get the ball in the net and they did. Unfortunately Sassuolo scored these two great goals, have excellent quality in the side and made the most of their only two opportunities.

“I freely admit, in other games we’ve picked up more points than we deserved, but this time we deserved much, much more and it just didn’t go our way.

“It was our best performance of the season and we dominated Sassuolo, we played the kind of football I want to see. Hopefully, injuries can start to leave us alone and we can play like this again, but with a better result.”

Juric was asked if his defenders should've closed down more on Jeremie Boga for the opening goal.

"The problem is that if you get tight to him, he's quick and can dribble away. If you leave him space, he can shoot from there. He's tricky."
