Inter midfielder Nicolò Barella says coach Antonio Conte has helped him ‘a lot’ and feels he has matured at the Nerazzurri.
The 23-year-old Italy international moved to San Siro from Cagliari in July 2019 and has impressed in his first year with the Beneamata.
He has established himself in Conte’s line-up and this term he has so far played in all competitive games for Inter.
Barella himself, believes the coach has helped him ‘grow’ since his move from Sardinia.
“The mezzala acts as a link between attack and defence, I play the role in my own way,” the former Cagliari midfielder told UEFA.com.
“Here at Inter, a midfielder must know how to play both phases. I want to be the player the coach asks me to be.
“He has helped me this year. I feel I have grown in managing the different matches. Now, I know when to enter the box, when to wait or make the decisive play.”
