Domenico Berardi’s agent warns the Italy international is ‘worth at least €50m’ and has no intention of forcing an exit from Sassuolo.

The creative midfielder is due to start against Inter at 14.00 GMT this afternoon, with the Neroverdi flying high in second place.

He had the opportunity to leave many times, but always stuck it out at the Mapei Stadium and is now reaping the rewards.

“Perhaps he was closest to leaving in 2016, but even then he was in sync with the club and very happy to remain so they could play in the Europa League,” agent Simone Seghedoni told alfredopedulla.com.

“When you make your Serie A debut at 18, score four goals against Milan and get your face on the front pages, it’s natural there’s a lot of interest.

“If the moment arrives in future, it will always be in total agreement with Sassuolo. His transfer value is still at least €50m, because Sassuolo know how to make the most of the talents they help to nurture, achieving extraordinary results.”

Along with fellow Italy international Manuel Locatelli, Berardi is using his Sassuolo form to aim for the Euro 2020 squad.

“Sassuolo really is a family atmosphere and perhaps that’s the real reason we find players and club so perfectly in sync, despite the fact there was no shortage of offers.

“Berardi was always happy to wait and see what Sassuolo wanted to do and that will continue to be the case.”
