According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli, Lazio, Benevento, Genoa and Sampdoria have until December 1 to pay outstanding wages or risk a penalty.
These are the remaining clubs out of the 20 in Serie A who have only paid salaries to their players up to August 2020.
They would’ve already faced punishment if not for a special dispensation allowing all clubs a delay until December 1 due to the pandemic and its effects on finances.
However, these five are still cutting it fine and leaving it to the last minute.
The report states that Bologna, Crotone, Inter, Parma and Roma have paid up until September, while Atalanta, Cagliari, Fiorentina, Juventus, Milan, Sassuolo, Spezia, Torino, Udinese and Verona are covered for October.
If clubs do not pay their salaries regularly, they can face a points penalty.
