Sampdoria winger Antonio Candreva was ‘angry’ after the 2-2 draw with Torino on Monday. ‘We had to win’.
The Inter loanee inspired the Blucerchiati to turn things around at the Grande Torino, but Soualiho Meite equalised in a dramatic second half to make sure the Granata grabbed a point.
Candreva scored the equaliser after Andrea Belotti’s opener and then set up Fabio Quagliarella to send Samp ahead with a great through ball that the veteran volleyed home masterfully.
“We have come from three defeats and it wasn’t easy on a difficult pitch,” Candreva told the club’s official website.
“There’s still regret for not having picked up the three points. We must be angry and sorry because we had to win.
“We talked at the end of the first half and we all had to give more, we did and turned the game. But we must bring home these games.
“I’m happy for the goal, but I’m angry because we didn’t win.”
