Andrea Pirlo said Alvaro Morata and Cristiano Ronaldo are ‘a guarantee’ after Juventus' 3-0 win over Dynamo Kiev and was happy for Federico Chiesa.
Morata assisted Ronaldo’s 750th goal last night and then added the third himself, as Juventus bounced back with a comfortable win over the Ukrainians.
“We had a good game despite having already qualified for the round of 16,” Pirlo told UEFA.com. “We needed to play a good game for the growth of the team, and we are satisfied.”
Federico Chiesa impressed with a goal and an assist and Pirlo praised the young Italy international, but stressed it’s only the beginning for the former Fiorentina winger.
“He needs time, and he couldn’t wait to break free,” Pirlo added. “We really wanted him here and we are happy with what he has done, even if it’s just a starting point.
“He must continue to grow and do even better.”
Alvaro Morata and Cristiano Ronaldo were on target again for the Bianconeri and the coach confirmed the Spanish striker will play against Barcelona, when the two giants fight for the top spot in Group G.
“They are a guarantee,” he continued. “It’s a pity that Alvaro is suspended in the League but he can prepare well for the match against Barcelona.
“It’s always a special game. It was great to play it as a player and it will still be as the coach, but first we have a fundamental game in the Derby on Sunday.
“First, we must focus on that, we play one game at a time.”
Juventus host Torino at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday, for the first Derby della Mole of the 2020-21 season.
