This may well be Spezia’s last game at the Orogel Stadium in Cesena, because work on the Stadio Picco is almost complete.

“In theory, this is our last match in Cesena, so we will try to salute this stadium that hosted us in the best possible way,” said the coach in his press conference.

“The main thing is to give a sense of consistency to what we are doing, to repeat those recent performances. I think we are still a surprise because people didn’t expect us to play this well in our maiden Serie A season.

“It is also too early to look at the table, not just for us, but every team. I think from Week 15 onwards we’ll have a better idea of the situation.”

Spezia have 10 points and Lazio 14, so a victory would allow the Aquilotti to close up to the Aquile.

“Lazio are a top team in Serie A, battling for the top spots over the last few years and now doing well in the Champions League too.

“We saw their draw against Borussia Dortmund midweek and if you give them time and space to think, they have so many options to call upon, including a great hitman like Immobile.

“Immobile is the number one danger for us, as he has become an infallible marksman. Lazio are lethal and tend to score every time they get the chance, so we have to defend as a unit and with organisation, leaving nothing to chance.”
