CONI President Giovanni Malago said it’s a ‘wonderful idea’ to dedicate the Capocannoniere title to Paolo Rossi.
The former Juventus, Milan, Hellas Verona, Perugia, Vicenza and Como player passed away on Wednesday at 64.
Rossi scored the goals to help Italy win the World Cup 1982 and was Capocannoniere in 1977-78 with 24 goals for Vicenza.
The CONI chief said it would be a great idea to name the leading goalscorer title after the former hero.
“It’s a right that the FIGC and the Lega Serie A must exercise,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “I don’t allow myself the right, but it seems to me that the idea is wonderful.”
