Benevento director Foggia was teammates with Lazio’s Tare and they remain very close friends, as was evident by their friendly tussle.
There is also a huge height difference, which made it easy for Tare to literally scoop Foggia up.
On top of that, this is also the second time brothers Pippo and Simone Inzaghi have faced off on the touchline as coaches.
The only previous opportunity saw Simone’s Lazio win 2-0 away to Pippo’s Bologna on December 26, 2018.
Considering the two brothers said they speak daily, often more than once per day, that must’ve made the build-up to this match tricky.
“Fortunately, this was played only a few days after the last game, otherwise it would’ve been difficult to wait a whole week,” Foggia told DAZN.
“It’s a special game because of friendships, the past, those relationships, but once the whistle blows, it’s 90 minutes on the field and that is all that matters.”
