“I immediately found a good understanding. They follow me and there’s enthusiasm for the work that I propose.”
Mancini said people wondered if he was forced to take the job as Italy CT, but he claimed he ‘knew he would find players’ capable of getting the country back in shape.
“When I accepted the job of being the coach, many asked me: ‘But who makes you do it?’.
“It seemed like there was no return from the elimination from the World Cup in Russia. But our football couldn’t be over.
“I knew I would find players, I just had to look for them.”
