Torino director of sport Davide Vagnati continues to back coach Marco Giampaolo after he dropped several star players against Roma.
It kicks off at 19.45 GMT, click here for the line-ups and LIVEBLOG.
“Everyone has to be ready, the coach made these choices and we hope the lads who work so hard during the week in training can give a strong response. It’s about the group and we look to everyone at this moment,” Vagnati told Sky Sport Italia.
“We view the situation with disappointment, but evidently if we are in this position then there’s a reason for that and it means we deserve it.
“We are eager to keep working and turn the situation around. I speak to Giampaolo every day, I consider him a great coach, a great man and someone who really understands football.
“We have the utmost faith in him and that is why we are sure that we’ll emerge from this situation with him. I personally don’t believe in training retreats, but when we have six points and conceded 27 goals, something needs to be done.
“here are moments when everyone needs to take responsibility, realise how tough the situation is and give a little extra.”
Salvatore Sirigu is on the bench in favour of Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, a goalkeeper who has not started in Serie A since November 2018, amid reports of tension between the former PSG shot-stopper and coach Giampaolo.
“Nothing is happening, it’s a decision made by the coach. That is his role and he decided to give Milinkovic-Savic a chance, as he’s a fine goalkeeper who we hope can give a strong response,” added Vagnati.
“I don’t want to spend too much time discussing Salvatore, as that would make it look like there’s a problem and there isn’t. Salvatore loves Torino, we want to build something that will last in future.”
