The Colombian winger was shown a straight red card after 18 minutes for a reckless tackle on Gaetano Castrovilli.
Referee Federico La Penna had initially given Cuadrado a yellow card, but he then opted for a straight red after a VAR review.
Pirlo replaced Aaron Ramsey with Danilo after 20 minutes, but the Welshman apparently did not take his coach’s decision well.
The former Gunner looked disappointed and kicked a bottle of water as he approached the Juventus bench before joining his teammates to watch the game from the sidelines.
With Cuadrado’s red card, Juventus have received the joint-most red cards in the top-5 European leagues this season (five).
