There is some genuine confusion over whether Adrien Rabiot will be suspended against Udinese after Juventus left him out with Fiorentina.

The midfielder had originally been set to sit out a ban in Week 3’s fixture with Napoli on October 4.

That was awarded as a Juve 3-0 victory when Napoli failed to attend in Turin, but an appeal with the CONI overturned that decision yesterday.

The game must now be played and that means the Rabiot ban was never fulfilled.

Last night, Juventus left Rabiot out of the squad against Fiorentina in “an abundance of caution” and to “be on the safe side.”

However, it might’ve been a futile gesture, as La Gazzetta dello Sport insists any ban must apply the day after the ruling is made.

That means he would’ve been available against Fiorentina and will instead be suspended against Udinese in January.
