Kevin Strootman has arrived for his Genoa medical to complete the loan move from Olympique Marseille.
It is a return to Serie A for the former Roma midfielder, who left the Stadio Olimpico in 2018 and will turn 31 next month.
The Dutch international posed at the airport with a Genoa scarf.
This will be a six-month loan without option to buy and Marseille are due to pay half his salary.
The Grifone are currently two points off the relegation zone in Serie A, after three wins, five draws and nine defeats.
They already fired coach Rolando Maran to bring back Davide Ballardini.
