Genoa are on the verge of signing RB Salzburg defender Jerome Onguene on loan with an option to buy.
SportItalia journalist Alfredo Pedulla reports the Grifone have reached an agreement with the Austrian side and Oguene will soon be available to coach Davide Ballardini.
The defender arrives on loan with an option to buy from RB Salzburg.
Genoa decided to make a move for Onguene when they couldn’t come to terms over a deal for Arsenal defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos.
Sky Sport Italia claims Onguene will arrive for his medical and sign with the Rossoblu today.
The 23-year-old, capped six times by Cameroon, has played 93 games for Red Bull Salzburg and has contributed 11 goals and four assists from his centre-back position.
He has played eight games in the Champions League and eight games in the Europa League and brings vast experience to Liguria, despite his young age.
