Sassuolo director Giovanni Carnevali warns they ‘won’t even take into consideration’ any offer for Manuel Locatelli in January, including from Juventus or Manchester City.
The question specifically cited the reported interest from English media of Manchester City for Italy international midfielder Locatelli.
“Seeing Sassuolo players in the headlines is a positive thing, as it means our team and players have been doing well to attract attention,” Carnevali told RAI Sport.
“We have many players who are of interest to many, including Locatelli, but any issue will be only discussed in January. When it comes to important players like Locatelli, we won’t even take into consideration any proposal that would involve him leaving mid-season.”
The Neroverdi host SPAL this afternoon in the Coppa Italia Round of 16, which could be another path to Europe alongside their strong Serie A form.
“We want to improve, take it one game at a time and always do better than the years before. The Coppa Italia and Serie A always present difficult matches, but we want to keep going and get the results that will allow us to progress in every tournament.”
