Fikayo Tomori is expected to be in Italy over the next few days in order to complete his move to Milan, on loan with option to buy from Chelsea.
Multiple sources including Sky Sport Italia claim the deal is down to the final details.
He became the favourite for the Rossoneri after first choice Mohamed Simakan of Strasbourg agreed to join RB Leipzig.
The option to buy is believed to be set at €30m, although Milan are hoping to negotiate that down.
The 23-year-old was born in Canada and has one senior cap for England, but fell out of favour recently at Stamford Bridge.
Tomori has made four appearances this season for just 234 minutes of football.
