Torino President Urbano Cairo saw ‘the worst performance of the season’ against 10-man Spezia, but insists Marco Giampaolo won’t be fired.
The Granata are now rooted in the bottom three after a 0-0 draw against a Spezia side that was down to 10 men from the eighth minute.
Even in these circumstances, Spezia still had more scoring opportunities and Toro only threatened in the final minutes.
“It was a very bad game, horrible, the worst performance of the season,” Cairo told reporters.
“I’m sorry to say it, but that’s the truth. I had hoped to see a very different team today.”
However, when asked if Giampaolo would remain on the Torino bench, the President was adamant.
“Of course he’ll stay.”
