“It’s a pleasure to be part of a game like this, even if there aren’t any fans. It remains a special match and we hope to get the supporters back soon,” the director told Sky Sport Italia.

“Conte is a great coach who wrote history with Juventus, first as a player and then a coach. He won three titles as a coach, we can only thank him for giving us that helping hand. He is now in charge of the Inter squad, so he will do what is best for Inter and we do what’s best for Juve.

“Inter-Juve is always a headline fixture, there’s a reason it is called the Derby d’Italia, so we go into it with the right level of concentration.”

There’s also a former Juve player in the Inter line-up this evening, namely Arturo Vidal.

“Vidal is an excellent player, a person who has given a great deal to Juve. The years go by, we all take different paths in life, and Vidal remains an important person in the history of Juventus, but like with Conte, he is fighting for Inter now.”

Mario Mandzukic is returning to Serie A this weekend, as he landed at Linate airport this evening ahead of his Milan medical

“I am happy for Mario, as he returns to the level of football where he belongs. He made a lifestyle choice going to Qatar, but I always knew he’d come back to important European leagues, because he belongs at this level and wants to compete for trophies.

“Seeing Conte, Vidal and Mandzukic, it reminds me that I’ve been here for 11 years and seen so many wonderful coaches and players come and go. It really puts it all into perspective.”

Paratici was again asked about the direction Juve’s January transfer window is moving in, specifically the search for a striker.

“As I said before, we’re waiting, looking around for opportunities, but don’t think we particularly need to do anything on the transfer market. We have a competitive squad, so there’s no rush.”
