Spezia coach Vincenzo Italiano has revealed he will rotate ‘and give space to those who have played less’ against Roma in the Coppa Italia on Tuesday.

The newly promoted side held Torino to a 0-0 draw on Saturday, despite having played more than 80 minutes with 10 men.

Against Roma in the Coppa Italia tomorrow, Italiano sees an opportunity to give some of the fringe players a chance to shine and thus rest some of their key men so far this term.

“I think these are matches where we must try some alternatives as far as men are concerned,” Italiano said at a press conference.

“We should give minutes to those who need it. We will side a competitive team to give our all.

“We want to do well and there will be space for some guys who have played less, but we will try to give a hard time to one of the strongest teams in the Italian League.

“I’m convinced that, no matter who is on the pitch, our mentality is to try to propose ourselves and play with great clarity, arriving to the result through the performance.”
