Maldini: ‘Nice guys aren’t enough’

Technical director Paolo Maldini said Milan are looking to Mario Mandzukic as ‘good guys aren’t enough in football’.

The former Juventus forward has undergone successful medical tests with Milan and  will sign his contract with the Rossoneri tomorrow.

Maldini was asked about the former Croatia international’s arrival.

“We know Mandzukic’s character well, we talked to him,” Maldini told Sky Sport Italia. “We don’t consult with our players, it’s the club that decides.

“We have direct contact with the coach. In football, good guys aren’t enough, not that Mario isn’t.

“The group also draws on those who are slightly different, I’m not talking about Mario but in general."
