Benatia had given the all-clear to joining them as well, but Sportitalia claim Al-Duhail have cut off all negotiations with Parma and will not release the former Milan and Juventus centre-back.

Meanwhile, the Ducali are looking at new attacking options on loan for the January transfer window.

Sportitalia suggest an approach for Wolves forward Cutrone, who saw his spell at Fiorentina cut short last week.

Another target mentioned by the Italian television station is Sevilla creative midfielder Vazquez, formerly of Palermo.
