Arkadiusz Milik might finally be on his way to Olympique Marseille after Napoli agreed to drop legal action against the striker.

That was the obstacle holding up both this transfer and the one in September towards Roma.

According to Sportitalia and Sky Sport Italia, that has now been resolved, because Napoli accepted they were in a no-win situation with his contract due to expire in June.

Milik needs to sign a new contract with Napoli before he can be allowed to join Marseille on loan with obligation to buy.

The club had outstanding issues with the Poland international, specifically suing him – and all the players who took part in the ‘mutiny’ that sparked Carlo Ancelotti’s dismissal – for image rights and docking their wages.

Marseille are expected to pay €9m plus €4m in add-ons and a 20 per cent sell-on clause included in the agreement.
