According to German paper BILD, Luka Jovic turned down a move to Milan as he feared he would not get regular game time because of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The 23-year-old joined Eintracht Frankfurt on loan from Real Madrid in the January transfer window, but Milan had also made an attempt to sign him on a temporary deal until the end of the season.
According to the report, West Ham and Wolverhampton had joined the race to sign the Serbia international who eventually returned to Germany.
BILD reports Jovic rejected the chance to move to Milan as he feared he would not get regular game time and play ahead of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The Swede missed one month and a half of action with a muscle injury, but earlier this week he netted a brace in the first Serie A game he started since November 22.
The 39-year-old has 13 goals in just as many appearances with the Diavoli so far this season.
Milan eventually signed former Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic to back-up the Swede.
