Simone Zaza bagged a brace, including a last-gasp equaliser, as Torino fought back from 2-0 down to hold Benevento on Davide Nicola’s debut.

Le Streghe had streaked out in front thanks to a Nicolas Viola penalty and Gianluca Lapadula firing in, but Zaza completed the comeback with a header and stoppage-time slide onto Andrea Belotti’s inspired pass.

The ball actually hit the back of the net seven times in total, but three goals were disallowed – one for offside, two for handball.

It was not quite the perfect debut for new Toro coach Nicola, but certainly an improvement.
