Both players are reportedly looking for an escape route as Eriksen is struggling with game time at Inter, while Dzeko has had disagreements with Roma coach Paulo Fonseca who did not include him in the Roma squad for Saturday’s game against Spezia because of a supposed injury.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma have offered Inter to swap their unhappy stars in the January transfer window.

Both of them would join their new clubs on loan until the end of the season.

The Giallorossi are struggling to find suitors for their 34-year-old captain who has a salary of €7.5m per season.

Conte is a long-time admirer of the Bosnian striker, but Inter are not convinced about signing him, even if he would move to the Meazza for free.

Inter, in fact, want to lower their wage bill and even if Eriksen and Dzeko have similar wages, the ‘Growth Decree’ allows the Nerazzurri (and any other Italian club) get a tax discount of 50 per cent on the gross salaries of players and coaches from abroad.
