SPAL coach Pasquale Marino rues the third Juventus goal, as ‘it came during our best period of the game.’
The quarter-final was never really in doubt, as the Bianconeri were 2-0 up by half-time and added another two after the break.
“It’s a pity that we made a big mistake and conceded the third goal during our best period of the game,” Marino told RAI Sport after the 4-0 defeat.
“The match effectively ended there at 3-0. Juventus took the early lead and it all went the way they wanted it to.
“We’re happy with the way we played anyway, as we knew it would be tough.”
SPAL were the only remaining Serie B side in the Coppa Italia and their main focus has to be on gaining promotion.
“It will be a struggle, because Serie B is a very balanced league.”
