Henrikh Mkhitaryan has played 24 games in 2020-21 and will trigger an automatic renewal with Roma when he reaches 25 competitive games.
The Armenia international, capped 88 times, has continued to impress with the Giallorossi, contributing eight goals and eight assists in 18 Serie A games.
He also helped Roma qualify for the knockout stages of the Europa League, with one goal and two assists in five games.
La Repubblica reports the Giallorossi have a clause in the contract expiring in June 2021 with the 32-year-old and the next game he plays will trigger the conditions for the automatic renewal.
However, Mkhitaryan, who seems happy with life in Roma, is still in doubt for the match against Hellas Verona.
The attacker currently struggles with muscle problems and could be forced to wait for his 25th game with La Lupa this season.
