Cagliari goalkeeper Alessio Cragno has been linked with Inter, but his agent reveals he ‘would probably be at Roma’ if not for an exit.

The 26-year-old shot-stopper impressed with a series of stunning saves for the Sardinians and is under contract until June 2024.

He has been suggested as the most likely heir to Samir Handanovic at Inter, but his future could’ve been elsewhere.

“If Ricky Massara had remained, I think that today Alessio would probably be at Roma,” agent Graziano Battistini told Minutidirecupero.it.

Former Roma director Massara is now working for Milan, so this could be a clue as to a future transfer if Gianluigi Donnarumma were to move on.

“The transfer market before the pandemic feels like a completely different era. People are always in contact in football, so that doesn’t change, but there’s nothing new to report.

“You’d have to ask Cagliari if any genuine proposals arrived. I don’t think so, at least not formal ones. It’s safe to say there is interest, because I think he’s the best Italian goalkeeper around, along with Gianluigi Donnarumma.”
