Luis Suarez reveals he wanted to take an Italian citizenship test regardless of the interest from Juventus.
The Atletico Madrid forward received a B1 passing grade on his oral exam at the University for Foreigners in Perugia this past September, but the Italian ‘Guardia di Finanza’ found out the striker new all the questions before the exam took place.
Suarez was playing for Barcelona at that time and Juventus were in talks to sign him.

Suarez was playing for Barcelona at that time and Juventus were in talks to sign him.
The former Liverpool star claimed in December he had already reached an agreement with the Old Lady before taking the exam.
“There were many clubs interested, not only Juventus” Suarez said in a new interview with El Transitor.
“I’ve continued the process to get the Italian citizenship because I had been working on it for more than one year.”
The 34-year-old eventually left the Nou Camp to join Atletico Madrid.
“[Ronald] Koeman called me to say he didn’t count on me. I accepted it, but I told him I had a contract and, therefore, I would have joined the team for the pre-season trainings.
“I couldn’t talk to Bartomeu, my lawyer did it. It was hard to leave Barcelona, I was disrespected, but I wanted my children to see me leave the club in style.”
