The Rossoneri need to beat Crotone on Sunday if they are to recapture top spot in Serie A, as Inter already won their fixture 2-0 away to Fiorentina last night.

“Milan are among the youngest teams in Europe, but they are also very professional. I never have to tell someone off, nor try hard to motivate them. There is the desire to make this season really special,” Pioli told Radio 105.

The results were so remarkable in his debut season that Milan scrapped plans to hire Ralf Rangnick and stuck with Pioli.

That decision is paying off now, as they were crowned Winter Champions and have also progressed to the Europa League Round of 32.

“I don’t want to come off as someone who is always trying to be modest and humble, because I do know that I contributed to this and worked on the details, but the fact is the atmosphere is so good because we all worked in the same direction, especially during difficult moments.

“The club always supported, protected and allowed us to work in the best possible way.”
