Mattia Destro says ‘this is only the beginning’ after scoring 9 goals in 17 Serie A games and reveals what Davide Ballardini has brought to Genoa.
The coach returned to the Marassi in December to replace Rolando Maran and earned 17 points in 8 games, just one fewer than Milan and Juventus.
“The Mister has brought enthusiasm and desire to win every game,” Destro told Tuttosport.
“I think that’s the most important thing to gain Serie A survival,” the striker added.
“I bet on myself at the beginning of the season, I’ve taken a good path. This is only the beginning.
“We must continue like this, because we are playing great games, and our target is to keep improving.”
The Rossoblu face Torino tomorrow.
“We know their coach very well, they have great players and we should be focused and compact, we must be ready to suffer.”
