Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic ‘cannot describe with words what I owe Cesare Prandelli’ after today’s big 3-0 win over Spezia.

The 21-year-old scored one and provided an assist for Valentin Eysseric around a Gaetano Castrovilli goal.

“We knew this game was very important and worked all week to be ready to bring home three fundamental points,” the striker told Sky Sport Italia.

“I want to say thank you to my coach and teammates, to congratulate us on this performance and the victory.”

This result allows Fiorentina to leapfrog Spezia in the standings and reach 25 points.

“I think consistency is the most important thing now, we need to grit our teeth and go into another tough game ready to give everything.

“We have proved that we are a team and will push ourselves all the way. I’ve said many times that I cannot describe with words what I owe to Prandelli. He arrived when I was in a bad period of form, he gave me confidence and I must repay his faith in me.

“I also know it’s important to keep working hard every day to keep improving every time. When we return home with three points and a smile on our faces, that’s priceless.”

Even during the game this evening, Prandelli was heard telling Vlahovic not to let his head drop after a mistake, that he could immediately get back on his feet.

“When you have someone who believes in you, it’s much easier. I can’t describe honestly what he has done for me.”
