Fiorentina President Rocco Commisso hails ‘a very important victory, both for our position in the table and our morale,’ after beating Spezia 3-0.

Despite missing Franck Ribery and seeing Giacomo Bonaventura go off injured, the Viola took control after the break with goals from Dusan Vlahovic, Gaetano Castrovilli and Valentin Eysseric.

“It’s a very important victory, both for our position in the table and our morale,” the President told Sky Sport Italia.

“The first half was hard-fought, but in the second we started strong to take the lead, then were more organised and clinical.”

This result allows Fiorentina to leapfrog Spezia in the Serie A standings, going up to 25 points.

“We’ve got to find some consistency now in our results and performances. I’m happy for the lads, the coach and the whole group that worked over the last week with great concentration and commitment.

“Our fans can be happy along with us this evening. The important thing now is to keep going along this path next Sunday with Udinese too.”
