Milan striker Rafael Leao reveals why he turned down an offer from Inter to join the Rossoneri: ‘When Milan call, you can’t say no.’
Leao joined the Rossoneri from Lille in a €30m move in the summer of 2019. Inter had also been linked with securing the player’s services.
“I chose Milan because the club’s directors had spoken with me before the others and this club was my top priority. When Milan call, you can’t say no,” Leao told Il Corriere dello Sport.
“Zlatan Ibrahimovic is like an older brother for me, he is a point of reference with a winning mentality that I’ve never seen in other players,” Leao added.
The Portuguese forward also shared his thoughts on tomorrow’s derby: “We must play with our hearts and minds. We want to defend the shirt and give a satisfaction to our fans.
“I want to help the team, I am ready to give my best, if I commit some technical mistakes, I hope I’ll make up with my character, with sacrifice and commitment.”
