According to the latest reports, Dziczek was conscious when stretchered off and taken to the nearest hospital for tests.

“The player had a crisis caused by the vagus nerve,” explained Salernitana medic Epifano D’Arrigo.

“It was a similar incident to what happened in September. He had numerous neurological and cardiological tests that found no trigger. Now more tests will be performed.

“He is at the Mazzoni hospital in Ascoli. There was no need to use the defibrillator. There was no cardiac arrest, but his tongue did slide back and he needed resuscitation.”

This is, worryingly, not the first time that Dziczek has been involved in a similar incident.

He already collapsed during a Salernitana training session on September 21.

Dziczek has 19 caps and two goals for Poland at Under-21 level.
