Bologna coach Sinisa Mihajlovic said he’s ‘happy’ with the Rossoblu but revealed Lazio patron Claudio Lotito called him before he signed with Fiorentina.
The Serbian coach said he is looking to ‘do something important’ in his coaching career and stressed it could be done at Bologna, if the could are willing ‘to invest’.
“I’m happy at Bologna, I’m an ambitious person and I’d like to do something important,” he told Tiki Taka. “Which can also be done here.
“It depends if they have the desire to invest.”
Mihajlovic, who spent six years as a player at Lazio, was asked why the Biancocelesti never contacted him about the job at the Olimpico.
“In reality, it’s not like that,” he said. “Lotito called me many years ago, before I went to Fiorentina.
“It didn’t happen because we didn’t reach an agreement.”
Since Fiorentina, Mihajlovic has coached Serbia, Sampdoria, Milan, Torino, and Sporting CP.
He was appointed head coach at Bologna in January 2019 and has signed a deal until June 2023.
