Roma expressed their ‘deepest condolences’ to goalkeeper Alisson Becker following the tragic death of his father.
The now Liverpool player is in mourning after his father Jose Becker was swimming in a lake near his home in Brazil when he drowned on Wednesday, aged just 57.
Alisson also has a brother, Muriel, who plays as a goalkeeper for Fluminense.

Similarly to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who was unable to attend his mother Elisabeth’s funeral earlier this year, Alisson will also likely not be able to travel due to COVID restrictions.
“Our deepest condolences, Alisson,” wrote Roma on their Twitter account.
“The thoughts of everyone at the club, and all the fans too, are with you and your family at this saddest of times.”
The Liverpool social media account adopted a simple and very effective message, referencing their club motto.
“You’ll Never Walk Alone, Alisson.”
