Granada coach Diego Martinez praised an ‘historic’ achievement by knocking Napoli out of the Europa League.
This is their first ever European campaign, yet they are in the Round of 16 after a 3-2 aggregate victory over the Partenopei.
“This is something historic,” Martinez said in comments carried by Football-Espana.net.
“What the team has done is a feat. All the adversities we’ve had adds more value to what the team has done.
“After the draw, all of Europe considered us to be already eliminated. But the team played a great first leg, we played a great first half, and the team has once again shown the strength of this Granada.
“We left our souls [out there on the pitch], qualification was obtained thanks to everyone, to the spirit and soul of this team that is unique.”
