Ferland Mendy’s agent reveals Juventus were in talks to sign the Real Madrid defender and predicts Memphis Depay will choose the Old Lady over Barcelona.
Yvan Lee Mée, the agent of several footballers, including Real Madrid’s Ferland Mendy, has revealed the French defender could have joined Juventus.
“We spoke to Juventus, but they already had Alex Sandro,” he told Tuttosport.
“Truth is, Real Madrid wanted him more than anyone else. Two years ago I said Ferland would become the Mbappé of left-backs and I was proved right.
“Playing along with the champions at Real Madrid can make you improve, and right now, I can’t think of a more complete left-back.”
Mendy scored the winner against Atalanta in the first leg of the Champions League last 16 stage earlier this week.
“It’s something they’ve tried so many times in training. But usually, it is a midfielder who shoots. Zidane appreciated the fact that it was Ferland who took the responsibility.”
Memphis Depay will see his contract expire at the end of the season and he’s been linked with both Juventus and Barcelona.
“It’s not a secret he wants to join Koeman at Barcelona,” Lee Mée, who is not the Dutch striker’s agent, said.
“However, Barcelona already have several strikers and they can’t spend lot of money. Free agents are a specialy of Paratici and Depay seems perfect to play along with Cristiano.”
