Pioli hopes to have Milan duo fit for Man Utd clash

Milan coach Stefano Pioli hopes Theo Hernandez and Ante Rebic recover in time for Thursday’s Europa League clash against Manchester United.

The Rossoneri snatched an away 2-0 win in Verona yesterday despite the many absentees.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Hakan Calhanoglu, Ismael Bennacer, Theo Hernandez and Mario Mandzukic were out of action with injuries and four of them will be out of the upcoming Old Trafford clash later this week.

Ibra, Calhanoglu, Bennacer and Mandzukic won’t be available on Thursday, but according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Pioli hopes to have Theo and Rebic fit.

The Milan coach revealed yesterday neither players suffered muscle injuries.

“They picked up knocks in the previous game against Udinese,” the coach said.

“We’ve been playing every three days from the beginning of the season. We spent a lot of energies, especially on a mental level.”
