The Grifone have not won since the first week of February and currently find themselves 13th in the table, eight points above the drop zone.

“For us, the important thing now is survival,” admitted the Georgian defender on Friday.

“I’m sorry to say this, considering the players and the quality that we have, but this is football.

“Unfortunately we have gone wrong in matches that we could not afford to go wrong in.

“Now the important thing is to stay in Serie A and we can do that easily.”

That bid to reach the mid-40 points tally begins with Monday night’s trip south to face Roma, a team that Kaladze drew comparisons to Genoa with.

“They are a good team, but even they sometimes have incredible performances in some games and in others concede three or four goals.”
