Roma seem set to start with Henrikh Mkhitaryan up front against his former club Shakhtar Donetsk in the Europa League tonight.

The match kicks off at 20.00 UK time.

Shakhtar arrive at the Olimpico for the first leg in the last 16 of the Europa League, as the Giallorossi coach Paulo Fonseca faces a former employer in the second consecutive round of the competition.

It will be a particular match for both him and Mkhitaryan, who seems set to start up front for La Lupa in the familiar 3-4-2-1 formation.

Roma aim to follow up on the win against Genoa and put themselves in a good position to qualify ahead of the trip to Ukraine.

Fonseca confirms the three-man defence, with Gianluca Mancini, Chris Smalling and Marash Kumbulla starting at the back.

The three centre-backs should start ahead of Pau Lopez in goal, whilst Bryan Cristante is tipped for a place in the middle with Gonzalo Villar, meaning Amadou Diawara will most likely start on the bench.

Rick Karsdorp is expected at right and Leonardo Spinazzola at left, whilst Pedro Rodriguez and Lorenzo Pellegrini should support Mkhitaryan in attack.

Shakhtar are expected to start with Maycon as the deep-lying midfielder, with Tete, Marlos, Marcos Antonio, and Taison behind Junior Moraes.
