Sacking Maurizio Sarri after just one season and keeping him on the payroll will cost Juventus €17.335m.

According to Calcio e Finanza, who analysed the Bianconeri books leading up to December 31, 2020, the cost of firing Sarri is even larger than previously thought.

He was dismissed on August 8, 2020, just days after winning the Scudetto in his debut campaign, to be replaced by Andrea Pirlo.

Inspecting the paperwork closely, Calcio e Finanza have found evidence that Juve will have to continue paying Sarri and his staff €15.457m until the contract expires in June 2022.

That’s not all, as there are also other costs relative to Sarri worth €1.878m.

This brings the total cost of the early dismissal to €17.335m if it runs to its natural conclusion in June 2022.

However, there is a clause allowing Juventus to terminate the deal for €2.5m in June 2021.
