Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo was impressed by Federico Bernardeschi at full-back and seems set to continue with the Italy international in his new position.
Tuttosport reports the former Fiorentina winger has convinced the coach since his debut at full-back against Genoa in the Coppa Italia.
The newspaper highlights that Pirlo had already thought about playing Bernardeschi in defence when he was appointed last summer.
“I told him about this summer on vacation,” the coach said after the win against Cagliari. “I met Bernardeschi at the seaside and I explained to him the idea I had in mind: that of playing him at left-back, for his strength and runs.
“When he comes from behind, he can take advantage of his qualities, plus he also has fewer one-on-ones.
“He gave me his availability, the last few games went well, we will continue down this path.”
