Milan coach Stefano Pioli apologised for his reaction after the defeat to Manchester United. ‘I was angry with the assistant’.
The Rossoneri coach explained he was angry with Solskjaer’s assistant Kieran McKenna after the 1-0 defeat to United at San Siro.
Milan were eliminated by a 2-1 defeat on aggregate, as Simon Kjaer’s equaliser at Old Trafford was not enough to see the Diavolo through to the quarter-finals.
ANSA writes Pioli was annoyed with McKenna, who held the ball several times on throw-ins, wasting precious time during the big game.
But the Rossoneri coach apologised for his reaction after the game, when he addressed Solskjaer’s assistant with disrespectful words.
“I’m sorry about the reaction I had, it won’t happen again,” Pioli told news agency ANSA. “I congratulated Solskjaer, I was angry with his assistant.”
