Juventus talisman Cristiano Ronaldo has been named best player in Serie A 2019-20, with Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini the tactician of the season.
The AIC has announced the winners in the 10th edition of the Gran Galà del Calcio, when they picked the top XI from last season, and awarded best coach, referee, female player and male player.
Maurizio Sarri’s Juventus picked up their ninth consecutive Scudetto and had three players in the top XI, voted for by a jury made up of coaches, referees, journalists, and players.
Ciro Immobile finished as the leading goalscorer in Serie A 2019-20, when Simone Inzaghi’s Lazio qualified for the Champions League for the first time in 13 years.
Atalanta continued to impress, and Milan turned things around under Stefano Pioli’s reign, but it was the Orobici coach who picked up the prize for the best coach.
La Dea finished the season third in Serie A and qualified for the quarter-finals of the Champions League and were also voted the best team in 2019-20.
“We are proud of this recognition, this award,” President Antonio Percassi said, according to news agency ANSA. “We must be humble and focused, we are a provincial squad who are growing beyond expectations.
“The choice of Gasperini was decisive, an excellent job has been done, which is rewarding us.”
